Two accused in the case have already been arrested
Detective Branch (DB) of Police has been handed the responsibility of investigating the case filed over the deadly fire in Banani’s FR Tower that killed 26 people.
Two accused in the case have been arrested. They will be produced before a Dhaka court with remand pleas.
DB (North division) Additional Deputy-Commissioner (ADC) Golam Saklain Sithil disclosed the information on Sunday morning.
He said: “DB will investigate the case. Two accused have already been arrested. They will be sent to court with 10-day remand pleas for both.”
Earlier, police arrested SMHI Faruk, landowner of Banani’s FR Tower, and BNP leader Tasvir Ul Islam, one of the owners of the illegally occupied floors in FR Tower, from different areas of Dhaka.
On Saturday, Banani police outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Milton Datta filed a case accusing Rupayan Group Chairman Liakat Ali Khan, BNP leader Tasvir Ul Islam and SMHI Faruk over the deaths in the fire.
