Thursday's fire in Banani's FR Tower has claimed the lives of 25 people
Four probe bodies have been formed to investigate a deadly fire incident that killed 25 people in a high-rise building in Banani, Dhaka.
The fire broke out on Thursday afternoon at FR Tower.
A six-member probe body was formed by the Home Ministry, keeping Dr Tarun Kanti Shikder, additional secretary of the ministry's security services division, as convener to investigate the fire and provide details about the entire incident
The committee has been asked to look into the incident and submit a report—that includes suggestions for how to avoid such disasters—within seven days, said a press release from the Home Ministry.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence department has also formed a five-member committee to investigate the fire incident.
Furthermore, Ministry of Disaster Management has formed an eight-member probe body to investigate the Banani fire.
The Housing and Public Works Ministry has also formed a seven-member probe body to look into whether the approval of the FR Tower building design and its subsequent construction was faulty or not.
The committee has been asked to submit its report within seven working days, said a press release of the ministry.
