Newly-elected Ducsu committee at Ganabhaban to meet PM

The March 11 Ducsu polls, the first in 28 years, were marred by allegations of irregularities

Members of the newly-elected Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) have gone to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban.

Vice-President-elect Nurul Haque Nur, General Secretary-elect Golam Rabbani and Assistant General Secretary-elect Saddam Hossain, accompanied by the other secretaries and members of the committee, reached the prime minister’s official residence around 2pm on Saturday.

The March 11 Ducsu polls, the first in 28 years, were marred by allegations of irregularities.

All panels, except Awami League’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League, had boycotted the election alleging vote fraud.

Chhatra League's panel dominated the polls but its VP candidate was defeated by quota reform movement leader Nur.
