Some of the sharpest young minds from schools across Dhaka are gearing up to compete in the two-day-long Dhaka Tribune Inter School Quiz Competition, set to begin on Friday.
The first day of the quiz competition will be held at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) Campus B in Dhanmondi on Friday, while the second and final day will be held at the Krishibid Institute Bangladesh (KIB) Complex in Farmgate on Saturday.
The competition is being powered by Meena Bazar, knowledge partner ULAB, and media partners Channel 24, The Daily Kaler Kantho and Radio Today 89.6 FM.
A total 50 renowned schools from the capital are set to participate in the competition, which is being organized in a knockout format with three rounds: an initial round, semi-final, and final. The first two rounds will be held on Friday, while the final will be held on Saturday.
In the initial round, all 50 schools will participate in 25 head-to-head sessions. The 25 winning teams will proceed to the semi-finals, where five teams will compete in each of five sessions. The five winners from the semi-final will proceed to tomorrow morning’s finals.
The winners of the competition will be awarded a trophy and Tk2 lakh; Tk1 lakh for the participating students, and Tk1 lakh for their school. The runner-up will receive a crest and Tk1 lakh, also distributed evenly between participating students and their school. All participants will be given certificates of participation, while finalists will also receive medals.
The Final round will be live telecast on Channel 24 and broadcast by Radio Today 89.6 FM. The Dhaka Tribune will cover the entire event exclusively, while other media outlets will also cover the final round.
