A teen injured in a "gunfight" has died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Dhaka, around 7am on Tuesday.
The deceased—identified as Shanto, 18, son of Mohammad Faruk—was allegedly preparing for a robbery near the Gopibag area under Wari police station.
Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune Wari police station Sub-Inspector Md Mofiz Uddin said: "The deceased was injured during a gunfight with us. He had been preparing for a robbery. First he was taken to one of the local hospitals. Later we took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, around 4am on Tuesday, for better treatment."
"He had twice been shot in the leg, and he died around 7am while undergoing treatment," he added.
