Two bodies recovered from Buriganga

Police say efforts are underway to determine the identities of the dead men

Police have recovered two bodies at separate points of the Buriganga River in South Keraniganj. 

The bodies were found floating in the Farashganj and Milbarak ghat areas of the river on Thursday night.

However, the identities of the deceased had not yet been determined till the filing of this report. 

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, South Keraniganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shahzaman said, acting on information, policemen recovered the bodies and sent them to the Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital—commonly known as Mitford Hospital—morgue, for autopsy. 

Efforts are underway to determine the identities of the dead men. The cause of death will be known once the autopsies are completed, he said. 

The body—recovered at Farashganj ghat—was wearing black pants and had no injury marks on it; while the other body was wearing a black-and-white checkered shirt and black sweater, plus also displayed injury marks to its head and right foot, the OC added.
