Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at an occasion marking her government’s formation.
Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to Bangabandhu by placing a wreath at his portrait, in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban, in Dhaka's Dhanmondi area on Tuesday. This comes a day after she took her oath as prime minister, for a record fourth time.
After laying the wreath, she stood in solemn silence to mark her profound respect for the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of Bangladesh's independence.
Along with her new cabinet colleagues, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, placed another wreath at Bangabandhu's portrait, as the party’s chief.
Advisers to the prime minister, Jatiya Sangsad’s chief whip, whips, Awami League parliament members, and central leaders of the party were also present during the event.
