The service will be available till 1pm on Saturday
The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) is providing fast-track services to visitors at the National Development Fair 2018 in Dhaka’s Agargaon.
The authority is providing two services at the fair – driver's learner cards and motorbike registrations – within almost 10 minutes of submitting applications.
Assistant Maintenance Engineer of BRTA Md Mashiur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune: "We witnessed a large crowd at the stall on Thursday and even more so on Friday."
Upon visiting, until 11:30am, the correspondent found that there were at least 200 consumers at the stall.
Applicants can obtain forms for both of the services, by 1pm on Saturday, for a fee of Tk345. There are no other charges.
Some applicants are quite happy with the services as their documents were obtainable in such a short period of time.
However, the services are only applicable for the 19 areas under BRTA: Dhaka Metro Circle 1: Ramna, Dhanmondi, Rupnagar, New Market, Shahbag, Kalabagan, Tejgaon, Mirpur, Shah Ali, Pallabi, Kafrul, Darus Salam, Bhashantek, Cantonment, Gulshan, Tejgaon Industrial Area, and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
The three-day long National Development Fair 2018 commenced on the grounds adjacent to the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Agargaon, Dhaka.
The fair will continue till Saturday, held on the grounds which most famously hosts Dhaka International Trade Fair every year.
Various stalls have been set up by different ministries to provide services to customers at the fair—to display the government's development activities.
