Almost 87% of the candidates taking the undergraduate admission test for 2018-19 have failed to gain admission to the science disciplines under "Ka" (A) unit of the Dhaka University (DU).

According to a DU press release published by the Faculty of Science, among the 77,572 students that took the admission test, 10,117 passed. The pass rate stood at 13.04%.
This year, a total of 81,096 students applied for 1,750 seats of the Ka unit.
Students who have passed must fill their "choice forms" to choose their preferred science disciplines. They must do so on the university website between October 17 and 31, according to the press release.
On the other hand, those who fulfil quotas must obtain their quota forms from the Dean’s office of the Faculty of Science, and fill them up betweenOctober 8 and 15.
The students who want their admission test copies re-examined must apply to the Dean’s office of the Faculty of Science between October 4 and 11.
The honours first year admission test of Ka (A) unit, of the Faculty of Science, for the 2018-19 academic session was held at 84 centers, inside and outside the campus, at 10am on September 28.
Four aspirants and one of guardian were detained for their involvement in admission fraud by use of electronic devices.
The results are available on the university website: www.admission.eis.du.ac.bd or students can get the results by SMS—from any mobile phone operator.
For SMS notifications of the result, the aspirants will have to type “DU KA roll number” and send it to 16321.
