The bus driver has been detained

An employee of private television channel Ekattor TV has been killed in a road accident near Jahangir Gate area in Dhaka Cantonment.

A bus knocked down the motorcycle of Anowar Hossain, 40, while he was going to his office in Baridhara around 10am on Saturday.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kafrul police station Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.

Anowar was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital with severe injuries, where duty doctors declared him dead around 12:45pm, Ekattor TV reporter Parvez Reza said.

The bus has been seized and the driver has been detained, the SI said.
