PM to inaugurate Dreamliner Akash Beena Sept 5

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the maiden flight of the country's first Dreamliner 787-8, Akash Beena, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday, September 5.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines press release on Thursday said that after the inauguration, Akash Beena will fly for Kuala Lumpur, reports UNB.

Biman GM (public relations) Shakil Meraj said: “The test flight has completed successfully. No problem was detected. Initially, the Akash Beena will fly to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur every day of the week.”

He added: “The Dreamliner's economy class fare for its Singapore flight has been set at $200, excluding taxes and other surcharges, and its Kuala Lumpur flight at $290.”

Earlier, on August 19, Biman Bangladesh Airlines entered a new era in aviation with the addition of the Dreamliner. It landed in Dhaka after making an uninterrupted fifteen-hour flight from the Boeing Factory in Seattle, USA.

The new generation aircraft was received by Biman Chairman, Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari (retd), its CEO, and members of the board of directors.
