Officials of both city corporations have urged people to slaughter the sacrificial animals at 1,054 designated spots
The Dhaka south and north city corporations have jointly introduced a hotline - 09611000999 - aimed at cleaning waste of sacrificial animals within 24 hours.
The hotline will aim to ease public sufferings and facilitate complaints of waste management and cleanliness during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, reports BSS.
Authorities of the city corporations urged the citizens to give suggestions or lodge complaints over the hotline regarding waste management.
Both the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) have cancelled Eid holidays of their employees to clean waste of sacrificial animals at the quickest possible time.
Around 30 tons of waste will be generated as 500,000 cattle are expected to be slaughtered in the capital on Wednesday, the Eid day.
As many as around 21,000 cleaners of both city corporations will be engaged in cleaning the waste.
The city corporations also plan to distribute 175,000 bags among the city dwellers for better collection of wastes.
To ensure better waste management, the city corporations have designated 1,054 spots for slaughtering the sacrificial animals, officials said, urging people to slaughter animals in those places.
