Sheikh Hasina made a commitment to build the underpass, after two students of the college lost their lives in a road crash due the recklessness of a bus driver

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will lay the foundation stone for an underpass at a road adjacent to Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College in the city on Sunday at 10am.

Sheikh Hasina made a commitment to build the underpass, after two students of the college lost their lives in a road crash due the recklessness of a bus driver.

Earlier on July 29, Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, both first year students of the college, were killed as a bus ploughed through some students in front of the Kurmitola General Hospital on the Airport Road.

When the family members of the deceased went to meet her at her Tejgaon office on August 2, Sheikh Hasina promised to construct an underpass near the college and provide five buses for its students.

On August 4, the prime minister handed over five buses to the college.
