Traffic Week: 3,651 cases filed on the first day

Traffic Week began on Sunday

A total of 3,651 cases have been filled for traffic violations in Dhaka, on the first day of Traffic Week.

The Traffic Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed the cases on Sunday.

According to the Traffic Department, the cases were filed because of different traffic rule violations. 

Cases were filed against: 404 vehicles for driving on the wrong side of the road, 13 for vehicles using hydraulic horns, six for vehicles using hooter and beacon lights, 12 microbuses for using tinted glass on their windows, and four cars for using different types of stickers.

Meanwhile, 68 motorcycles were seized on the first day.

Other than that, 1,040 cases were filed against those driving without a driver’s license, 244 cars for not having fitness certificates, and 1,801 bikers for violating traffic rules. 

Aside from these, 61 cases were filed mobile phone usage while driving. DMP will continue the drive till August 11.
