Terming police's attitude towards student protesters in Dhaka as absolutely unacceptable, Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK) has urged the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to stop it immediately.

The rights body issued a statement in this regard on Wednesday, reports UNB.

ASK also expressed deep concern over the attacks on students made by transport workers in Narayanganj on Wednesday morning.

The statement read: "We came to know that transport workers attacked and beat protesting students of different schools and colleges in the Mouchak area of Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, which is very unfortunate."

Pointing out the increase in the number of road accidents, ASK also said that the behaviour of law enforcement agencies towards students, who are demanding that safety in the streets be ensured, is completely unacceptable.

They also asked law enforcement to be more responsible in their actions and called for the government to take steps to increase road safety.
