No one was arrested in connection to the seizure
Customs officials recovered 80 gold bars weighing 9.28kgs from a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Ataul Islam, inspector customs, said the flight landed at the airport from Kuala Lumpur around 4:30am on Thursday.
He said a team of customs officials, led by Deputy Commissioner (Customs) Fahmida Mehzabin, conducted a search operation and recovered the gold bars, worth Tk4.68 crore.
The gold bars were kept under a seat and were wrapped in black scotch tape, he added.
However, no one was arrested in connection to the seizure.
