Titas Gas disconnects illegal gas lines all over Dhaka and neighbouring areas
Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd, in association with the Intelligence Executive Magistrate of the mobile court, has been snapping illegal gas connections all over Dhaka and adjoining areas. Seven factories, 21 trading hubs, 69.20km of illegal gas pipelines, 26,533 illegal residential connections, and 1,258 legal connections with outstanding gas bills, have all been bereft of gas connections. Gas connections of M/S EH Fabrics Ltd of Tongi area and M/S Hornbill Apparels Ltd of Konabari area were snapped on March 21 with the approval of the Divisional Vigilance Team. On March 28, the illegal gas line of M/S Ananta Denim Tech Ltd. was disconnected. The gas connections of M/S Iko Washing Ltd and M/S Nisha Apparels Ltd of Gazipur area were snapped on March 8 for using illegal gas boosters, and for using a house line booster illegally, Tongi area's M/S Symtex Ltd faced the same consequence on March 21. The gas line of M/S Ismail Print Factory of Jinjira area was disconnected on March 28 due to the use of an illegal compressor. More gas connections were severed in Bandar area's Mayer Doa Bhandari Hotel on March 8,  New Cobra Coil Factory, Moktar Hotel, Khaja Hotel, Sabuj Pata Restaurant, and Mohammadia Hotel and Restaurant on March 14 and Bhandari Hotel on March 15. The connections of Hossain Restaurant, Botpata Hotel, and Amir Hossain Hotel were snapped on March 18, and those of Z & K Company and SS Chemical's gas lines were snapped on March 29. For outstanding bills, JK Food Products of Mymensingh, M/S Sultan Bakery of Manikganj, M/S Al-Mobarak Hotel, M/S Dildar Food Products, Savar area's M/S Biswas Synthetics, M/S Fahmi Industries, M/S Miracle Accessories, M/S Al-Madina Tanary, M/S Samata Complex, M/S Arab flattened rice mill, M/S Hot Dress Ltd, Gazipur's  M/S AMC Sweaters Ltd, Konabari's Bisik area's M/S Akter Caps, Kaliakoir's Rajib sweets, Fatulla area's Molla Paper products,  Bhai Bhai re-rolling mills, Jakir Metal industries, Bushra Restaurant, Tejagaon's Apparel Aid Ltd and Shovon Washing Plant Ltd, Jinjira's M/S Aslam Laundry, Manikganj's J&J CNG, and Captive Power have all lost their gas connections. Under the Executive Magistrate, 106,963 feet of two inch bases of various areas in Gazipur, 1,357,419 feet of various bases in Savar area, 18,640 feet of two and three inch bases of Mohammadpur, Hajaribagh, and Kamrangirchar, and 13,123 feet of two-three inch bases of Munshiganj's Gojaria area's gas pipeline connections have been snapped. Pipelines in Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj, Sonargaon area, Turag thana, and Uttarkhan, and Tangail's Mirzapur, Konapara and Shantibagh, among others totaling 227,052 feet, meaning 69.20km of illegal gas pipelines, have been disconnected. 34 illegal gas users have been fined around Tk442,000 by the executive magistrate in March alone.
