He made the statement on Sunday
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said there were no flaws in Muhammed Zafar Iqbal’s security.
“If there was any oversight, the assailant would not have been caught,” he said.
He made the statement on Sunday during the 56th annual sports and cultural event of Nazneen School and College in East Rajabazar.
He said: “We know the attacker had a computer shop right beside the university premises. He has been caught and is undergoing medical treatment. We will question him as soon as possible and find out more. ”
When asked how the attacker got past the police, he said: “We will investigate the matter. I do not want to make any comments before that.”
The prominent author and professor has previously received several threats. When asked if the attack occurred because these previous threats had not been addressed, the home minister said: “We will deliver justice on all accounts. The charge-sheet is being made.”
