A workshop on freelance journalism, hosted by Ra’dia Inc, was held at EMK Center in Dhanmondi on Saturday.
The workshop titled “How to be a Maestro of Freelance Journalism?” was part of Ra’dia Inc’s Master Mind series that aim to promote freelance journalism in the country.
It was presided by CEO of Ra’dia Inc, Rabius Shams, and founder and editor of Writerspoint.org, Mohin Uddin Mizan.
18 to 35-year-old aspiring writers, who want to work as a freelance contributor, columnist or feature writer in the news industry, attended the workshop.
During the programme, Rabius shared his experience as a freelance journalist, and talked about how it could be tricky for writers to choose a topic to write about, and the process of a publication.
Mohin said freelance journalism is the “perfect medium to explore individuality in writing,” and talked to the participants about how to improve an article or a feature so that it catches the eye of the editor of a newspaper or magazine, as well as its readers.
The event was co-partnered by EMK Center, Digitalbridge, rokomari.com, Writerspoint.org, NewsfeedPR, and Softbin.
It was a signature initiative by Ra’dia Inc and is supported by the EMK Center and the Dhaka Tribune.
