Mohiuddin's family told the Dhaka Tribune said they were planning to move him to Chennai, India for better treatment.
Former Chittagong City Corporation mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury has been brought into the Square Hospital in Panthapath, Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
He was transferred to Square Hospital around 3pm from Max Hospital in Mehedibagh, Chittagong via helicopter, his son Awami League Organising Secretary Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury confirmed in the evening.
Mohiuddin, also the president of Awami League's Chittagong unit, has been suffering from kidney disease, diabetes and several other ailments for a long time.
He was admitted to the Max Hospital on Saturday afternoon after he fell severely ill.Later on Sunday evening, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader visited Mohiuddin at the hospital and instructed the hospital authorities to ensure proper treatment, sources said.
