Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh Association of Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows (BACSAF) was held at Dhaka's Platinum Suites on Sunday.
Over 70 Commonwealth alumni participated in the program which aimed to provide a platform for them to voice their opinion regarding the finalisation of BACSAF’s structure and its journey forward, according to a press release.
The alumni engaged with their peers through three separate group discussions, bouncing ideas back and forth to put forward their final thoughts about the association’s constitution, its membership modality and financial system and the type of activities the members would like to take part moving forward.
British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake, and Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof Abdul Mannan were present at the meeting among other special guests.
Prof Mannan expressed his hope that together, the Commonwealth alumni will be able to make invaluable contribution to various economic and social sectors of Bangladesh with their expertise and knowledge.
The meeting was organised with the support of British Council Bangladesh on behalf of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK.
