The victim, Iman Sultana, said the attackers are followers of Chhatra League DU unit General Secretary Motahar Hossain Prince, and attacked her because she used to be a one as well, but switched to Chhatra League Central President Saifur Rahman Shohag. She said: "Around 12am, Farida took me to the hall’s rooftop claiming to have a discussion where her followers joined too. Later they started threatening me to leave the hall which initiated a argument. "At a point in the argument they started attacking me and hit me several times. They even throttled me and tried to push me off the rooftop," she said. Iman also said Motahar called her earlier and threatened her not to attend any DU Chhatra League programmes. "I am assuming they attacked me because I continued to attend the Chhatra League programmes," she added. Denying the allegations, Farida said: "I met her on the day but nothing violent happened." Motahar also denied the allegations and said: "It is their personal matter; it was nothing but a discussion between them."
