Journalist leaders set an ultimatum demanding the ninth wage board by July 29 otherwise they will go for a single-point movement from the next day, reports BSS.
The demand was made at a rally organised in front of Jatiya Press Club on Tuesday by Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ). It was chaired by DUJ President Shaban Mahmood.
BFUJ President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul said: “The information minister will have to take a decision about the declaration of the wage board by July 29. Otherwise, the journalists will stage a fresh movement from July 30."
BFUJ Secretary General Omar Faruque, DUJ General Secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury, BFUJ Joint Secretary General Amiyo Ghatak Pulok, DRU General Secretary Mursalin Nomani, Sub-Editors' Council General Secretary Obaidur Rahman, and others spoke at the programme.
