Popular Spanish and Latin dances such as Tango, Flamenco and Salsa will be showcased for the first time ever in Bangladesh today, at an event titled “An Evening of Latin Exposure” in Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden hotel.
Ten noted professional dancers from the UK will perform at the event in the evening, and the show and backstage management will be coordinated by Kelly and Stacy Franklin.
Addressing a press conference at the hotel on Wednesday, Mishal Karim, founder of Space Dawg, said his newly launched marketing agency was organising the event.
Standard Chartered Bank, Qatar Airways, Direct Fresh Ltd and the Radission Blu have sponsored the event, while the Dhaka Tribune is a media partner.
Jed Archadeon, executive chef of the hotel, is designing a multi-course Latin-influenced menu for guests. He said the dinner menu was been finalised after a prolonged research and based on experiences he gathered through working with some charismatic Latino chefs for years.
Radission Blu General Manager Christoph Voegeli also addressed the press conference.
Davis has a 14-year career of dancing in London and is now working across all genres of the entertainment industry as a highly respected dance captain and assistant choreographer.
Taylor trained in all styles of dance including Latin at Performers College in Essex. She has been performing on TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor.
Kozevnikov has lucratively been engaged in several high profile establishments. He also won the big singing TV project “Ukraine does not believe in tears (Ukrainian Pop Idol).”
Julia Ruiz Fernández:
Fernández is a Spanish qualified versatile dancer based in London. As a world class professional instructor, she has been providing training in Jazz, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Ballet, etc.
Brown has performed internationally as a Ballroom and Latin dancer, appearing in numerous live performances.
Her first professional job was the UK and US tour of “Simply Ballroom,” where she worked with the likes of Sam Kane, Lionel Blair and the late Debbie Reynolds.
Harris is a professional dancer, choreographer and instructor based in London. He specialises in partner styles, particularly Ballroom and Latin American dances.
Based in Australia, Taormina has appeared in a variety of shows on several platforms, i.e. including TV, live shows, UK Arena tours, theatre, cruise ships and corporate events.
Würsch was a dancer in the London Olympic Ceremonies and in the feature movie “Cuban Fury”.
Sawyer has been dancing Salsa for eight years. He is the winner of the Open European Salsa Championships 2013 in the semi professional category.
