JS body asks for removal of old aircraft from Dhaka airport
The parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism on Monday recommended the removal of all old and dilapidated aircraft from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on an emergency basis. The recommendation was made at the 25th meeting of the committee held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, with committee Chairman Mohammad Faruk Khan in chair, reports BSS. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Professor M Ali Ashraf, M Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Kamrul Ashraf Khan, M Aftab Uddin Sarkar and Rowshan Ara Mannan were also in attendance among committee members. In addition, the committee asked Biman Bangladesh to urgently procure or rent buses for the carrying of inbound and outbound passengers.
