Passengers urged to bring only one person to Shahjalal airport

Update : 26 Mar 2017, 03:32 AM
The Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) has requested all passengers who expect to leave the country from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to limit the number of relatives they bring with them to the airport. The CAAB circular issued on Saturday stated that passengers should not be accompanied by more than one person when they arrive at the Dhaka airport. The circular also said the call was made to ensure the safety of the passengers and the airport. On the issue, HSIA Director Group Captain Kazi Iqbal Karim said: “When a departing passenger comes to the airport, several relatives accompany them and it hampers security procedures as it takes too much time to conduct a full-body check on each of the person.” Meanwhile, CAAB Public Relations Officer Rezaul Karim said the extra security precautions that were taken at the Dhaka airport after the nearby Ashkona attack is still being continued.
