PM to inaugurate 12 development projects in Tangail Thursday

To welcome the prime minister, Kumudini Complex has been colourfully decorated and all necessary security measures have been taken

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to visit Tangail's Mirzapur to inaugurate and lay the foundation to 31 development projects in the district on Thursday.

She will also present the “Danveer Ranada Prasad Saha Gold Medal” at Kumudini Complex in Mirzapur after inaugurating and laying foundation stones for the development projects in the district, unveiling their plaques.

The prime minister will also exchange views with senior government officials of the district during her visit.

The premier will arrive at the Kumudini Complex helipad in Mirzapur by an Air Force helicopter in the morning and will be given a guard of honour by the district police.

Sheikh Hasina will later inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 31 development projects, including Dherua Railway Overpass, a 33/11 KV Switching Station, and a 33/11 KV 10 MVA Indoor Sub-Station.

Afterwards, the prime minister will join the “Danveer Ranada Prasad Saha Gold Medal” presenting ceremony as chief guest at the Kumudini Complex.

Four eminent persons will be given this year’s “Danveer Ranada Prasad Saha Gold Medal” on the occasion of the 86th anniversary of the Kumudini Welfare Trust.

The awardees are legendary political leader and former Prime Minister of erstwhile Pakistan, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy (posthumous), National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam (posthumous), Nazrul expert and researcher, Professor Rafiqul Islam, and eminent painter, Shahabuddin.

On behalf of Suhrawardy, Sheikh Rehana will receive the gold medal from the premier, while Khilkhil Kazi, a granddaughter of Poet Nazrul, will receive the medal on behalf of the National Poet.
