Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) has opened a control room as the severe cyclonic storm Amphan is approaching Bangladesh coasts.
The control room has been opened to provide any information and help to the city residents.

The city dwellers have been requested to contact the control room for any information and help regarding the severe cyclonic storm.

The CCC Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said that the corporation has taken all necessary preparation to relocate people living in the coastal areas.
Medical teams, adequate medicines, drinking water, and dry food have been kept ready for the post-disaster situation. Besides, loudspeakers are announcing caution among the vulnerable people living at foothills of the city, said the CCC mayor.
Maritime ports of Chittagong and Cox's Bazar were asked to hoist danger signal number six.
Earlier in the day, all four ports were advised to hoist local warning signal number four.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay and deep sea have been advised to take shelter immediately and have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice, according to the Bangladesh met office.
The severe cyclonic storm Amphan is expected to cross Bangladeshi coast, between Khulna and Chittagong, between Tuesday late night and Wednesday evening.
