A man has been arrested with 170,000 yaba pills worth Tk5.1 crore in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.
Moulvi Arman, 32, was arrested from his house in the Uttarpara area of Shahparirdip on Sunday night. He is the son of the late Nurul Haque, of the same area.
Confirming the news, Teknaf police station Officer-In-Charge Ranjir Kumar said: “Acting on a tip we raided the Uttarpara area and recovered the yaba pills from a drum in the adjacent supari garden of Arman’s house. The estimated costs of the pills is Tk5.1 crore.”
OC Ranjit said: The detainee is a top yaba smuggler in the region. A case is currently being prepared against him.”
