She was allegedly raped in Sudan as well as in Bangladesh on the pretext of a false promise of marriage
A female police inspector on Thursday filed a case against a superintendent of police, charging him with committing rape.
The accused is SP Moktar Hossain of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).
The inspector had filed a petition with Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-7, and Judge Kamrun Nahar, after recording her statement, asked Uttara East police station to file her complaint as a case.
In her statement, the police inspector said she was serving in the UN peacekeeping force in Sudan two years ago. Moktar was also working in Sudan at the time.
SP Moktar had allegedly raped her for the first time on December 20, 2019.
She was raped on several other occasions in Sudan as well as in Bangladesh on the pretext of a false promise of marriage.
