According to DMP, remote-controlled explosives were mainly used during the attacks on the police boxes
Police have detained two suspected militants with large amounts of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials, supposedly used to attack police boxes in Dhaka.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit made the arrest, DMP Media and Public Relations wing Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Faruque Hossain told the media on Monday.
He said that large amounts of materials used to develop explosives have been seized from the arrestees.
“These remote-controlled explosives were mainly used during the attacks on the police boxes,” Faruque said.
Prior to this, police made several arrests in relation to various militant attacks on police boxes across the country in 2019 and 2020.
