Chhatra League activist killed in internal feud in Sylhet

Sources said, Dip was a follower of former Tilagor Chhatra League leader Ranjan group

A Chhatra League activist was killed in an internal feud within a group in Sylhet city’s Tilagor area.

The victim was identified as Abhishek Dey Dip, a HSC second year of Green Hill State College of Shibganj.

MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital police camp in-charge Faruk Ahmed said confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

“Dip had a clash with another Chhatra League activist Shomudra Roy Saikat and his associates at Tilagor area around 9pm on Thursday. At one point, the injured were taken to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment. Later, Dip died at the hospital,” Shahporan police station officer-in-charge Abdul Quaiyum Chowdhury said.

Saikat and another activist Shuvo were also injured in the clash and were receiving treatment at the hospital.

Sources said, Dip was a follower of former Tilagor Chhatra League leader Ranjan group and was a victim of internal feud within the group.
