6 traffickers held, 4 victims rescued

RAB also seized 70 to 80 passports in the drive

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained six human traffickers and rescued four victims from Dhaka and Narayanganj.  

The elite force carried out a nightlong drive from Narayanganj to Dhaka, which began around 11pm on Saturday.

The traffickers are Parvez, Anik, Akter, Akash, Hannan and Monir Hossen Shohag. 

According to RAB, these traffickers were involved in trafficking females to Dubai, Malaysia and Singapore.

Meanwhile, RAB also seized 70 to 80 passports in the drive.

RAB 11 Additional Superintendant of Police Alep Uddin said: “The traffickers sent girls and women abroad with tourist visas as dancers and later forced them into prostitution.”  

He said: “Anik and Akter were charged with the work to find girls and women for trafficking while Parvez made fake passports for them.”

“Akash, who owns a travel agency, managed works related to airport and visas.”

The RAB official added that Hannan and Monir owns a club in Dubai.
