He confessed to his crimes
Police arrested a man who was involved in the gang rape and murder of a seven-year old boy.
Wasim Akram, 20, one of the four accused in a murder case filed on August 26, was arrested on Sunday. He confessed to his crimes on Tuesday.
"Police kept the identity of the rest of the accused, who are on the run, a secret, for the sake of proper investigation," said Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, superintendent of police of Begumganj model police station.
He added: "The accused, Wasim, has confessed of abducting the first grader, Emran to an abandoned room, brutally gang-raping and strangling him to death with three other associates. Later, they wrapped the dead body with plastic and left it there in a fish basket."
Earlier, Emran's decomposed dead body was recovered on August 25, who was abducted on August 22. When he was not found, his father filed a general diary (GD) on August 23 and later a murder case on August 26.
