The victim's mother found her dead body floating in a nearby pond
A female primary school teacher has been stabbed to death by miscreants in Natore.
The incident took place at Gopinathpur in Gurudaspur upazila of Natore on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Latifa Helen Manzu, an assistant teacher of Brikasho Government Primary School and a resident of the area.
Confirming the matter, Gurudaspur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozaharul Islam said: "Manzu lived with her mother after her divorce. Manzu's mother went to the neighbouring village on the night of her incident."
"She returned around 10:40pm when saw the main door of their house was open, and Manzu was not present in her room.
She searched everywhere and found her dead body floating in a nearby pond," he added.
While answering to the probable cause of death, OC Mozaharul said a group of miscreants stormed into the house and stabbed Manzu with sharp weapon indiscriminately.
"Due to the heavy rain, Manzu's injuries were washed away. However, we have spotted a deep wound on her head while recovering the body," he continued.
The dead body was sent to Natore Sadar Hospital's morgue for autopsy.
