A 16-year-old teenager was brutally stabbed to death in Dhaka’s Rayer Bazar area late on Saturday night.
Police later identified the teenager as Yasin Arafat, son of Munsur Ahamed of Noakhali’s Begumganj upazila.
Yasin was the eldest among his parents’ three children.
Hazaribagh police station’s Sub-Inspector Al Momen said Yasin lived in Rayer Bazar area and used to work at a tea stall there.
“Yasin was returning home from the tea stall, when he was attacked and stabbed with sharp weapons by some unidentified people at the intersection near the Baitul Aman Mosque,” said Momen.
He said: “Some passersby found Yasin in a pool of blood on the street and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.”
Police said no case was filed over the murder till Sunday night.
