Police on Friday have arrested two more accused in a case filed over the gang rape of a woman in Lalmonirhat.
The arrested are the main accused Jubo League activist Nazrul Islam Nazu, 40, and the fourth accused Nurun Nabi, 27.
Paatgram police station OC Md Mansur Ali and Hatibandha police station OC Omar Faruk confirmed the matter.
Paatgram police station OC said: “Acting on a tip-off, the joint police force conducted a drive at the Ananda Residential Hotel in the Hatibandha auditorium area and arrested the duo.”
“The case is being given the utmost importance and the arrest for the remaining suspect is underway,” he added.
The police have now arrested three out of four accused in the case filed by the survivor over the incident on Thursday.

The young woman was gang-raped multiple times, while she was locked inside a bus counter for four days, near the Burimari land port in Lalmonirhat
She was tricked by the culprits into making her think they were processing her documents needed to go to India.
