Men claiming to be bankrupt reportedly tried to extort money from them
Two associate professors of Rajshahi University (RU) filed complaints with the police over receiving death threats from supposedly bankrupt men.

According to the GD copies, on the same Thursday evening, men claiming to be bankrupt called and asked them for financial assistance and later threatened to kill them if they refused.
Aminul Islam said the gateman to his house was also threatened around two weeks earlier by 15-20 individuals.
Regarding the matter, RU Proctor, Professor Lutfor Rahman, said: “I am aware of this incident; after a meeting with the university’s academic council on Sunday, appropriate measures will be taken.”
Motihar police station OC, Shahdat Hossain, said: “We took the complaints into consideration and will take legal action after necessary investigation.”
