2 hackers nabbed, charged under Digital Security Act in Bogra

21 college, school, and government websites hacked

A case has been filed against two hackers under the Digital Security Act 2018 in Bogra.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shahriar Tarique gave a two day remand to one of them, when case Investigation Officer (IO) and Detective Branch (DB) OC Tuhin produced them seeking a five day remand for each on Sunday.

Earlier, on Saturday, DB police SI Firoz filed a case against the two college students.

The arrested hackers are Bashir Ullah, 21, son of Hafez Abdullah Badshah of Faridpur, and Kazi Azhar Uddin Arif, 19, son of Kazi Matlab Uddin of Chandpur, both students at a local college.

Bogra Superintendent of Police, Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan, said: “The accused and their group hacked 21 websites of colleges, schools, and government institutions, including Bogra Govt Azizul Haque College and Bogra Govt Shah Sultan College, under the names “Black Web” and “Fabihexar” from last year’s December till January of this year.”

DP police, acting on secret tip offs, arrested Bashir from Gopalganj on February 21 and Ashraf from Chandpur on Friday.

Two personal computers, a few cell phones, and SIM cards were seized from them. Four hacked websites were also recovered from them.

During the primary investigation they said they got into  hacking to become known and to steal government information.

Confirming the matter, DB OC Tuhin said: “Only Bashir was issued a two day remand by the court.”
