The court in the past three years has extended the submission date 43 times as the CTTC has failed to file the investigation report
A Dhaka court once again extended the probe report submission date for writer and blogger Avijit Roy’s murder case, and fixed it afresh for March 25.
Metropolitan Magistrate, Md Sarafuzzaman Ansary, gave the order after the inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit, Md Monirul Islam, also investigation officer of the case, failed to submit the probe report scheduled for Sunday.
The court in the past three years has extended the submission date 43 times as the CTTC has failed to file the investigation report.
Avijit, 45, a Bangladesh-born US citizen was hacked to death and his wife Rafida Ahmed Bonya, 35, was seriously injured in an attack by unidentified assailants near the TSC roundabout on February 26, 2015.
On February 27, Avijit's father, Prof Ajit Roy, a former professor of physics at Dhaka University, filed a murder case against some unnamed people with Shahbagh police station, hours after the attack was carried out by suspected militants.
