The woman was kept in a room for two days and forced to take drugs
Two police officers have been withdrawn on charge of gang-raping a a 20-year-old woman, keeping her and her aunt confined for two days.
The action was taken against Sub-Inspector Sekandar Hossain and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mazharul Islam of Saturia Police Station after the victim lodged a written complaint with the police super on Sunday.
According to the complaint, on Wednesday the young woman accompanied her aunt to meet SI Sekandar at the Saituria police station to claim Tk1.5 lakh that the aunt was owed.
Sekandar took the two to the Dak Bungalow. There he kept her confined to a room and forced her to take Yaba pills. The aunt was confined in another room.
Later, Sekandar and Mazharul raped her in turns and released her on Friday afternoon.
After her release, the woman filed a written complaint to the superintendent of police.
SP Rifat Rahman Shamim said the two police officers were closed to the district police lines immediately following the compliant.
"The victim filed a written complaint and ASP Hafizur Rahman has been tasked to investigate the allegation," he said, adding that further action will be taken against them following the probe report.
SI Sekandar Hossain has denied the allegations.
