Police says the man is a junkie and not mentally stable
A son has hacked his father to death in Shariatpur and injured his mother with a machete.
The incident took place at the Naria upazila’s Anakhanda village at 5pm on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim Bepari, 55 a day-labourer. His wife Parul Begum was critically injured during the attack and was admitted to the Shariatpur Sadar Hospital.
Police has arrested the suspect Naim Bepari, 20.
Naria police station Officer-in-charge AKM Manjurul Alam confirmed the news.
He said: “Naim has been a drug addict for the last five years and has lost his mental stability. We have arrested him. The body of the deceased was sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy. We have not yet identified the reason for the killing. A case will be filed about the murder.”
