Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and its Detective Branch (DB) have arrested 62 suspects in an anti-drug raid across the capital.
Along with the arrests, the law enforcers seized 1,497 Yaba tablets, 316 grams of heroin, 135 phensedyl, 192 cans of bear, 1.5 litres of locally produced alcohol, 24 injections, and 210 grams of marijuana.
Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, DMP's Deputy Commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman said: “The police conducted a city-wide raid from 6am Friday to 6am Saturday.
“We will continue to conduct such raids in the future.”
A total of 42 cases have been filed against the arrested suspects under the narcotics control act, confirmed DMP sources.
