Officials from Pallabi police station arrested the suspect in Dhaka

Police have arrested a person named Wasim, 28, for his alleged involvement in the torching of a police vehicle in front of BNP’s Naya Paltan office last year.

He was arrested from Pallabi’s Muslim camp in the early hours of Thursday by Pallabi police in connection with the incident that took place on November 14, 2018.

The Detective Branch's Additional Commissioner Abdul Baten said that Wasim admitted to committing the crime when he was briefing the press at the DMP Media Centre later on Thursday.

He said three cases were filed in the Paltan police station accusing 90 people of being allegedly involved with vandalizing vehicles on November 14 in Naya Paltan area.
