Police on Wednesday recovered a dead body with its throat slit from the Dhakkingaon area of Sabujbagh, Dhaka.
The deceased was identified as battery-run auto-rickshaw driver Rashed Ali Akand, 30.
Confirming the matter, Sabujbagh police Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdus Sattar said locals reported that there was a dead body in the Dhakkingaon area around 6:30am.
After rushing to the scene and recovering the body, police sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.
The police official further said that Rashed used to live in a garage owned by Abdur Rahim, at Rajarbagh Kalibari Road no 1.
He added that a case regarding the death was in the process of being filed, and police would be able to determine the details of the death after investigation.
