Shohan, 17, was stabbed by miscreants during a fight Saturday evening
A teenager has been stabbed to death in Sherpur upazila of Bogra.
Shohan, 17, was stabbed by miscreants during a fight Saturday evening. Locals caught one of the miscreants, 16-year-old Morshed, and handed him over to the police.
The deceased's father filed a murder case with Sherpur police station Sunday afternoon, accusing Morshed and six others. Shohan hailed from Gopalpur village of Khanpur union in the same upazila.
Sherpur police station Officer In-charge (OC) Humayun Kabir said: "Shohan used to work as a labourer in a workshop. Around 7pm Saturday, Shohan and his friend Mizan were walking in the Ranbirbala Ghatpar area.
"At that time, Morshed and several of his accomplices, who were at that place, started teasing Mizan," said the OC. "When Shohan came to his friend's defence, Morshed along with others attacked both of them. At one point Morshed stabbed Shohan."
Locals rescued Shohan and admitted him to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where he died around 11pm on Saturday, the OC said.
The OC further informed that Shohan's body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy. After Shohan's father lodged the case against Morshed and six others, Morshed was arrested and sent to the court.
After the court orders, Morshed will be sent either to jail or Pulerhat Juvenile Correctional Centre, he said.
