RAB arrests two men posing as veterinarians from the Eid cattle market

Two fake veterinary doctors along with two cattle traders have been arrested in the Gabtoli cattle market in Dhaka for illegally injecting cows with steroids.

A RAB 4 mobile court that did rounds in the market from 11am to 2:30pm Monday detected the crime.

Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam said the arrestees were identified as Hekmot Ali Sheikh and Toriqul Islam and the cattle traders Alom and Rubel.  

Hekmot and Toriqul were sentenced to two years in prison and the other got two months.

Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated by Muslims in Bangladesh on Wednesday.

An expected 11.5 million animals will be slaughtered on the occasion as part of the day's observations.
