Detective Branch (DB) of Police has detained 57 suspected members of “Aggyan parties,” or dope gangs from different parts of Dhaka.

Aggyan parties, or dope gangs, rob their victims after drugging them into unconsciousness with often fatal consequences.
Eight counterfeit currency makers, six drug dealers and eight muggers were also detained in these drives.
Members of law enforcement have tightened security measures to keep law and order under control and to ensure security for everyone during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha which falls on August 23.
Confirming the matter, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman said counterfeit notes worth Tk75 lakh, 61,150 pieces of yaba tablets and 12 mobile phones during the drives.
He said details will be disclosed in a press briefing later in the day.
