A police officer was arrested at a residential hotel in Khulna city on Tuesday night after he was found to be in possession of yaba tablets.
Pritam Mandal, a constable of Khulna Metropolitan Police, was detained along with two of his associates, Sumon and Shaon Roy.
“Receiving a tip-off, a team of police raided the Midnight Residential Hotel at around 10pm and arrested Pritam along with 15 yaba tablets,” Humayun Ahmed, OC of Sadar police station, said.
A case was filed with Sadar police station in this connection.
Tuesday’s raid follows the detention of five police personnel including a sub-inspector, and the confiscation of 1,000 yaba tablets, from the Aizzar Mor area of the district on August 11.
