Railway official held while selling drugs at Chittagong hospital
Members of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) caught a railway official red-handed while selling yaba pills at Chittagong Railway Hospital while undergoing treatment Sunday night. Acting on a tip-off, a DNC team conducted a drive at the hospital and arrested Railway Transport Division Director Mohammad Bakhtiar, said DNC Chittagong office Deputy Director Shamim Ahmed. He said they recovered 1,000 yaba tablets and 100 grams hemp from Bakhtiar’s possession. Shamim said Bakhtiar had long been involved in selling drugs. Ibne Shafi Abdul Ahad, divisional medical officer of Railway East Zone, said Bakhtiar was admitted to the hospital after he got injured in a clash between two groups two days back.
